  1. Switch "On" your Mac and Boot macOS

  5. If Prompted, Enter your Mac Password

    It is possible that at this stage your Mac asks for password, simply enter the same password you use for your Mac lockscreen.

  6. Now, Use the Search Bar to Find your Passwords

    From this screen, you can now use the Search Bar to find your passwords. You can locate the search bar at the top-left corner of the window. In the Search Bar, you can search by the website name or your username.

  7. Select your Desired Password

    If your search term matches any website you have ever browsed on your Mac, the result will definitely pop. You can then click on your desired password and alter it (if you want) by clicking on the Edit button.

    You will only see the Edit button appear on the right-hand side of your view when you select a website from the left sidebar.


  8. Finally, the Next Pop-up Displays your Username and Password

    You will now see your password and username at the top of the pop-up window that is being displayed. From this pop-up window, you can alter your password as you see fit.

    • Although you can change your password from this pop-up window, the password will only change on your Mac and other iCloud devices that are connected to the same iCloud account that is logged-on on your Mac. To change your actual password, you can click the Change Password on Website button.


      This will open your web browser to the login page for the website and from there, you can proceed to changing your actual password for the website login.

    • Also, you can click Delete Password from the pop-up window but, similarly; it will only remove the password from your Mac and other iCloud devices that are connected to the same iCloud account that is logged-on on your Mac.
